The 10th fight of the morning with your 7 year old is the appropriate number of shirts to wear.  Five at once is too many for someone who doesn’t do her own laundry.  I know layering is ‘in’ and I even do it a bit.  I’m not a fashionista but it shouldn’t go: Hoodie, short sleeved t-shirt, long sleeved t-shirt, short sleeved sweater topped off with a cami.

Apparently pointing this out warrants the following response:  ‘You’re the meanest mom ever who never wants me to be cute and doesn’t ever let me do anything and I hate you and I’m not going to school!!!’

Wish you were me?

(This happened on Tuesday.  Stay tuned to find out what happened when she got home from school Wednesday.)

You are the best mom ever who doesn’t want her to look like a member of the cast of Annie. And I bet she went to school anyway.

I know the water was shut-off at the Junior High last week….Maybe the heat was off at the Elementary.

She did go to school anyway- who in their right mind would want to stay home with a meanie like me??

yeah, we don’t get a lot of that around here with boys. but it reminds me of my sister’s friend’s sister (got that) who once told her mom, who hemmed some jeans too small, “You’ve ruined my pants and you’ve ruined my life!” I dont even know the girl and it’s one of my favorite lines ever.

    Topped off with a cami?

    AWESOME!

Might I suggest sending her to a school with uniforms?

Man, I am so glad I am not as mean as you. LOL I just crush my son’s dreams, by not letting him ski out of our tree house.

Hi there - quick question - I actually saw your response to the choco-chip question on Baby Center and then found this location to post. Do you happen to have a fool proof yummy yeast dinner roll recipe - perhaps for a large family - and I mean large! I have 11 children and a great bosch mixer, just need a good recipe. Thanks~!

Yikes. I was hoping they would get better with age. Addy already tells me that I am not her mom and Dad is her person. I was so hoping that it was just a phase that would be gone in 2-3 weeks.

Maybe I shouldn’t stayed tuned for the update, huh?

I usually get the stink eye when I insist she change her underwear or socks but mostly, she’ll wear whatever I hand her.

My daughter has just reached an age where she can get dressed herself, and she gets furious if I ask her to change one of the crazy outfits that she has chosen. She is 4 1/2 now, and it sounds like I’ll have to prepare myself for another few years of this!
