The differences between boys and girls
Published by amberlicious January 22nd, 2009 in How I torment my kids, blah blah blahI have a houseful of girls. Girly girls.

Really girly girls
Not only that but I’m really from three generations of girls. I have 7 sisters and only one brother.
All those sisters? They’ve mostly had girls. Of the 12 current grandchildren there is only one exception. There are three babies coming in the next year- one is for sure a girl, guess we’ll see soon what the other two are.
Now to my point. I’m well versed in girls and hair dos and pretty dresses and ‘pretend’.
My neighbor Braden came over for a couple hours today, he’s 6. We had a 10 minute conversation about Star Wars. It concluded with him being frustrated with me saying, ’so you’ve not really seen Star Wars have you?’
Sorry Braden. I can talk intelligently about all the princesses though!

That’s a lot of girls!

I love it! It is okay, boys need to learn how to talk about girl things too.

Learning to speak Boy takes time. And lots and lots of dirt.

Wow. That’s a lot of girls! Your poor nephew! The amount of hormones he’s gonna have to put up with at family reunions will be amazing!
Cute story about Brayden. He could be your window into a whole new world!
ROFL.
FYI, whatever you do, DO NOT suggest that storm troopers are robots.

We have a LOT of boys at our house. I can tell you bodily functions are always safe ground for amusement and conversation with boys. A burp contest is sure to be a winner. And it okay if you can’t burp on demand, just cheer when he does and you will be fine!

And my poor son is the only boy. After conversations with him, I know more about Bionicles, Star Wars, and Pokemon than I ever knew there was to know. Or wanted to know. And since he was about 2, anything remotely skinny and long is a sword. He’s a teenager now. Hasn’t grown out of that.

I have never seen Star Wars. But Gavin could wax long about all of the princesses too.

I have all boys and I would be hard-pressed to carry on an intelligent conversation with any boy about Star Wars (thankfully, none of mine are interested yet). However, I have to agree with others. Somehow, crude body noises or body part words can carry a boy conversation (and endless laughter) all day.
The counter-help at McDonalds busted a gut today, when my little guy turned to them in the midst of my order and said, “You’re a pain in the patootie!”
