Steve was ‘downsized’ on Friday. Monday morning he got a call and a phone interview. Monday afternoon he had another phone interview. He had a job interview today in Utah. They called him two hours later to offer him the job. He has an interview with another company (here in town) tomorrow morning. We should know by the end of the week what we’re going to do and where we’ll be going. My head is spinning. I’m kind of excited about the prospect of moving to another state. But Utah? I’ve never thought I’d live there after I was an adult. Let alone northern Utah. I don’t know that area at all. Life will be interesting for a while.
Here’s a question for you. Would you live in a 3 bedroom apartment with 4 kids while you got the feel of an area. 1400 square feet (so bigger then our first house). Knowing it would only be for six months? It’d save us about $500 a month to rent an apartment vs. a house. What do you think?

I’d go with the apartment. $500/month X 6 months = $3000 for furniture or something for your new house.
I would rent the apartment too and then use the money saved for something “fun” for the new place. But I thin I’d also have a calendar to mark off the days, lol.
I think you could do 1400 sq. ft- especially through the summer when you’ll be outside a lot anyway.
I would never live anywhere with 4 children!
But if I HAD TO I would save the $3000. It makes it really worthwhile when you think of the lump sum like that.
I just hope the LV offer is too good to refuse. I want to move west, but SOUTHwest, and you would be closer!
