I know I promised you Halloween Pictures…

But I’m super excited!  I know I’m a nerd and feel free to tell me that.  But I just got back from grocery shopping.  I spent a total of $32.91 and got this: (Notice the movie that retails for $19.99- Merry Christmas to us!)

From Coupon Deals

At 27 items that’s about $1.22 an item.  Not one of those items sells for that much on a regular day.

Oh- the store is Albertson’s.  Shocking huh?

The secret is combining coupons with sale prices.  I didn’t think couponing really worked- now I’m learning that it does!

  1. Which store? Did you use coupons? I love great deals and my blog is turning more into a deal finder rather than long distance relative friendly showcase of kid pics.

  5. I feel like the biggest dork in the world when I use coupons (and get excited about them), but it really does work. I can totally tell the difference in my budget when I do it. If you haven’t heard of grocerygame.com, you should check it out. You have to pay (like $10 every 8 weeks for one store), but it combines the coupons with the sale prices to give you the best deals. Happy couponing!

  6. that’s great! So far I’ve been blessed to always live near an Aldi’s which is an off brand grocery store for a low price everyday… I figure no one should pay more than they have to for food as it all goes to the same place anyway, regardless how much you paid :)

  7. Whoa…I might have to start couponing too. Great job!!

  8. wow! couponing tires me, but I really should get into it. just so many times it’s not stuff we would normally eat. however, most of that stuff we would. good job.

  9. OK, now that is cool. I need to learn how to do that.

  10. I’m a couponer. I LOVE it. It is my nerdy hobby. I use Pinchingyourpennies.com which is free.

  11. I’m with Maria. We do Aldi a lot. I do hit the other stores for items that are not available there. SOme stuff I have to get for hippie boy at the Co-op, but it often has good sales, too.

  12. Amber,
Good job on using coupons and saving money for your family. I am disappointed in the prepared foods that you bought. If you had only bought the potatoes and the bananas then you would have only spent a couple of dollars instead of $32.91. Also that movie isn’t a church movie, how would that bring the spirit into your home?

  14. Hey, where do you get the coupons? (If that hasn’t already been asked)

  15. My mom was the coupon Queen…I did not inherit that trait. I only find good coupons when they’ve expired.
