Bear Lake Trip Numero Uno
That my friends is about 50% of my Spanish knowledge- despite taking Spanish 3 times… Enough random facts about me- time for more random facts about these guys!
and this one too
Doesn’t it look chilly with that dusting of snow on the ground? What about here?
Does it look at least a little bit like snow? I thought it did. We stayed at the Cottonwood Campground- and there was cotton everywhere. We were very glad that we had our screened dining tent to eat in so that we didn’t have cotton in our food. Best $20 I’ve spent all year!
So as is our tradition we started out our trip with a flat tire:
We almost got there before we got the flat though- if you look carefully you can see the lake in the background. We’ve figured out that the reason we’re having all these tire problems is a warped axel- which causes a misalignment in the tires and ‘drag’ causing the multiple flats. I’m (lucky me) taking the trailer in to get that fixed tomorrow. I’m also getting the oil changed for our next trip that we leave on next week. Yes, camping again. Woo! (No really- I love it).
Back to Bear Lake. If you’ve never been there it’s beautiful. Take a peak-
here is one in the morning on our walk to the beach
Annika scaring the birds (all the white stuff on the sand? Shells)
Megan scooping up shells by the cupful
Annika making butt prints in the shells
The best part is the lake goes out forever before it starts to get deep
Oh yeah, we brought my mom to entertain the kids while we were lazy on the beach
Hi cori!
Sand angels!
See?
See what I mean about lazy? (Surprisingly my red headed, fair skinned hubby was the only one not to get sunburned this trip.)
Another sand angel
Cute!
Did you know it was possible to fit a child into a swim cap?
From the feet up to their shoulders?
Here’s our mermaid
Steve flexing
Oh look! Cori it actually smiling!
Megan being dunked
After spending Saturday at the lake we stopped for shakes on the way out of town. There was a great climbing tree in front of the shake shop and since my children are part fish and part monkey they climbed.
Oh yeah- we brought Hannah too
And Angela
I was also present
mmm shakes…
We drove to Logan and went to dinner at a pizza place- we were all so tired and sunburned we didn’t eat very much…
Funny story- I told Cori to sit next to Hannah for a picture (we were trying to entertain her while waiting for the food) and she totally leans in and poses-
Then we told her to do the same with Ashely and she did this:
We had a great (quick) trip to Bear Lake. We’re going back next year (at least once).
Our next campout is to Yellowstone. We leave Monday for Yellowstone where we’ll spend 4 days and then Friday we go to a cabin in the Tetons with some friends for Labor day weekend.

Looks like a fun trip! I would have never guessed you could fit that much kid in a swim cap. Now I know and knowing is half the battle right?
Nice to see you in some of the pictures too. We moms tend not to end up in any pictures. Our poor kids will think they grew up motherless.
