First Day of School!
So we’re on year round school- which means that we start mid July. Woo! Of course then we go for three weeks and are out for three weeks, so really it’s like three weeks of camp in the middle of the summer right? Regardless my girls were excited.

The silly thing is that kindergarteners go to school for a shortened time the first day and their parents stay with them. Then for the next 4 days they do testing- so they go to school then don’t go back for a week! Frustrating for the parents of excited kindergarteners.
I’ve also found that as onery as Megan was the month or two before school started she’s about 10 times that now. Ugg. Five is a hard year!

Kyle starts school August 27th. No year round for us.
We don’t have kindergarten testing here. Char told me about it…sounds interesting, though!
I found 5 to be one of Kyle’s best ages, lol. He was SO ready to start school, so when he finally did, he was in heaven. Plus, it totally helped him get rid of his energy, so he was more mellow at home in the evenings. I have, however, noticed the 1st couple weeks of school cause some crazy behavior. Then it all calms down. Course, with year round, that might not be the case.

I find it so odd that ever state seems to do their own thing. AZ starts the 2nd week of August and has a 3 week break in October, NV has some year round and some 9 month but the year rounds don’t start until end of August or end of September. Everything is different! I wish everyone was the same! It makes vacations difficult!

Hello, we don’t start until the 25th. grrrrr. (long sigh). I am soooooo ready for them to go to school. Not only me I think they are ready to go too. I don’t know anything about testing, do you? You did clark county. Why five year olds are grumpy? NO clue, but I have one too. Good Luck!
Oh my…really, when did Ashley get so old??? I still remember her as a baby. Time flies!!! And Megan in school? Wow!
School here starts Aug 25th…I really need to turn in Kenzie’s papers so she can start play school (or in other words, pre-preschool).
I have no idea why 5 is so hard…I’m still wondering why 3 is so hard. LOL!

Oh, I got so distracted by your questions, I forgot to say how incredibly beautiiful your girls are! The hair, the eyes, the sweet, sweet smiles. Kiss them hard, hold them tight, too soon they will fly away, (just not far enough!)

School in Western Washington doesn’t start until after labor day. My daughter went to full day kindergarten (that is what they offer here) and there were no days off for testing. That is a new one?!?
My daughter was overly grumpy when she was four, not five, but then my son who is 3 seems grumpy all the time. Go figure

We started school last week. For one whole week, my kids have been on time to school, and done their homework when they got home from school.
This week, My daughter is still doing really well, my son, not so much. (yes, I realize that it’s only Tuesday)
It’s going to be a long year.
We’ve always sent our kids to kindergarten at a private school, so they run on the traditional schedule.

That’s so great that there are so many kids that walk together to school! My daughter walks to school, too, but with only a few neighborhood kids. Still, it’s sweet, isn’t it?

Ashley looks so grown up and Megan looks excited to be in school now! Sariah starts kindergarten this year too. Can you believe we have multiple kids in school? I used to look at my sister-in-law, who has had three in school for the last 3 years and think she was old! Does that mean that I’m old now, or that I was mistaken before?
