4th of July Week in Review- part 4- the water olympics and Happy Birthday Jake!
Following kickball we had the water olympics. We started with a good old fashioned pillowcase toss.
Which evolved into a water fight.
The most popular game of the day? Dribble, dribble, drench. Think duck, duck, goose with soaking wet sponges.
Followed by another waterfight. It was brutal- so I didn’t take pictures during- but we all made up at the end.
Then we got out the slip and slide
That night we had a birthday party for Jake- who was turning 25. His last birthday he was in Iraq- so it didn’t take much to top that.
He just got home about two weeks before this though- so his wife and kids were the best present I’m sure.
But Sarah got him some push up bars/handles (I’m really not sure what they’re called) anyway. We made him drop and give us 20.
Then we started adding some kids for weight… It’s a bad picture- but that’s how fast he was moving! ![]()
In honor of Jake’s birthday we set off some more fireworks and did sparklers.
We couldn’t have a birthday without cake right? Jake chose cheesecake- but he’d never had ‘real’ cheesecake before. He was impressed. We also had butter pecan cake. It may be my new favorite. I topped it with caramel, butterscotch and white chocolate. YUM!
We had a great visit with my family for the 4th!
