Things you should never say…
Published by amberlicious July 15th, 2008 in How I torment my kids, How my kids torment me“I’m at a point where my kids are relatively easy.”
Yeah, say that out loud Sunday night and your Monday afternoon zoo trip will be a nightmare, followed by dinner fights and bath time drama.
When you try to take them to do something fun Tuesday morning you’ll give up before you even leave the house because they are just that bad.
When will I ever learn?
I was hoping to make the last week of summer fun- but I’m waving the white flag in surrender. Apparently fun is crap- they’d rather not go anywhere. So the last week of summer is now going to be the week of work- I’ve got plenty of that for everyone.

Oi-yoi…I know that feeling! Some days I think, “We are never leaving this house again!”

Yeah, I’ve been thinking that my kids are relatively easy! AND, the baby is coming tomorrow, so I get to start over again!

Yeah, I’ve made that mistake before…that one and the “Potty training is going really well!” error. Never, never, never say that!

“Fun is crap”
ROFL
I’ll second that.

I hear ya.
I always try to have a few fun things planned for the few weeks that my kids are out of school. I only ask that they help clean the house before we go anywhere.
It always seems like they would rather fight and stay home than do dishes and go somewhere.

After saying, “Yes, she sleeps really well through the night,” we are guaranteed a cranky baby. We try to avoid answering the question. The last time we were asked we told them, “She sleeps really well, unless we tell people she sleeps well, then she stays up late crying. So, we aren’t going to tell you she’s a good sleeper.” It worked for us.

Oh my gosh! Seriously, why do we (or they) never learn. I still can’t understand why my kids would rather yell and fight than go somewhere fun. Oh well!
I second that! i am having more than a day of it though and I am so dang frustrated that I cannot put my finger on the fire starter (not the kid, the problem, the catalyst!).
Maybe I over indulge them. Need to quit stimulating them. Let me know how your week ends up!
