Good news!

So I asked my Realtor to ask the Realtor of the people who’s house we’re buying if it’d be okay for me to come and plant the garden this week- since now is when most summer crops are supposed to go in.  They said yes!  So anyway, I went over there on Saturday and started weeding, mulching and preparing the gardens to plant.  There are 6 ‘square foot‘ gardens.  So the dirt is ready- now I just need to get the plants and seeds and start planting!

Anyway- while I was there I spoke with the owners a bit and found out the following:

1. They’d like to leave their porch swing- ‘is that okay?’  Um, yes, that would be fabulous.

2. They’ve decided to start locking the gate and have talked to all the neighbors informing them of this decision.  Then we’re not the bad guys when we move in.  I asked my Realtor if she’d talked to them about it and she said she hadn’t said a word.

PS. I may have said I could never live in Utah county because  I’m not a BYU fan or a Republican….

Cool! I’m glad you can get your garden going, now. I have been sad that we wouldn’t be in our new house in time to do a lot, but I think pregnancy would get in the way anyway for me.

That is so cool they let you start planting. Didn’t that feel weird though?
I love the solution, (Ahem, I do believe it was ME who left that one in the comments…)

How wonderful not to be the bearer of bad news, and for gardening…which I’ve yet to try here in the desert! Happy packing!

Hey, cool! Starting to make it “your house” has got to feel good. And that’s great that they are going to lock the gate…makes it a little easier for you.

And I choose to ignore your Utah County slander, you heathen.

    ;)

That’s awesome! My Dad loves his square foot gardens. He gets best crops he has ever gotten. Is the PS because you aren’t in Utah County?

P.S. I live in Utah County and I am a BYU Fan and a Republican…but I still love you!

You’re not a “Republican”, so you must just be a “Publican”? ;)

I love when everything works out that way. Let us know what you are planting.

Congrats on all three, especially the part about the gate being locked NOW so you don’t have to deal with your neighbors about it later.

I couldn’t live in Utah county because I’d go nuts…not for the BYU or Republican thing…I am a BYU fan (I can’t help it, I did go to school there)…and the Republican thing…I’m so NOT a republican, but I’m married to one so it doesn’t matter where I live I’m stuck with one. LOL!
