Time for a contest!
Annika. Looks so innocent:
But she’s really so naughty.
Looks can be deceiving.
Are you ready for the contest? This morning Annika got in trouble for disobeying a direct ‘don’t do that’. She got sent to her room. I told her she could come out when it was clean.
Guess how long it took her to clean it? I’ll give you a hint. There was one piece of paper torn into about a dozen pieces (by her) two sets of jammies and a couple stuffed animals? Winner gets a prize yet to be determined. Another hint- she gets her stubbornness from her mom (although her dad is pretty stubborn too).
Also- I’ve had a couple people tell me that they’ve been reading my blogs- back into the archives. (Hi Wendy and Sonja). Feel free to comment readers that are new to Soggy Cheerios- or lurkers who’ve been reading (and not commenting) for a while. ![]()

If she is as stubborn as my Pea, it would be at least 2 hours!
Jo’s last blog post..Long Promised Post!
Lets see… You said she did it this morning.
It’s now 5 o’clock Utah time and I think this is a pretty recent post and she’s stubborn.
I’ll guess 4.25 hours.
My guess is that it’s still not clean.

Looks can be so decieving, can’t they?! I guess that she took about 5 hours.

Probably not before dinner time… yikes! I know a little bit about stubborness… it’s amazing how tenacious they can get.
If she’s anything like Nathan, she sat in the middle of the floor and refused to do anything the first hour, fell asleep for 2 more hours, woke up and played for 45 minutes, then decided the fun was over and spent 15 minutes cleaning up. What does that bring us to? 4 hours?
I will guess 3 hours. She was smiling when I saw her tonight so she had enough time to dry her tears and find her smile by then!
I’m thinking 6 hours 23 minutes. Six hours and twenty three BLISSFUL minutes.

My hubby says it likely took her three hours. The mess got a lot bigger before it got any smaller, and you finally had to hold her hand while she picked up the paper and jammies because she wouldn’t do it on her own.
I think it still isn’t clean. She probably screamed for awhile, threw a few toys, and eventually fell asleep until dinner time. We have a little one…who gets his stubbornness from his mom…and we deal with that kind of stuff on a semi-regular basis!
I REALLY hope we are both wrong…even though I totally want to win a contest…the competetive side comes out!

Let’s see. At least an hour to gather up all those scraps of paper. Possibly more if she has to sort them by size and shape first. Then an hour to play with the stuffed animals and create an elaborate story, which in turns results in more stuff pulled out, which in turn leads to another hour required to clean up that mess. The jammies? Possibly only 10 minutes if she was hurrying…

Oh, she looks like she could hold out a while. I’m going to guess three hours.
She sure is cute!
I am just a lurker, but I know the answer………… :-)>
I’m gonna say close to six hours. After all, you did say she was a lot like you…

OK, I’ll take a stab at it. Five hours. Gee, would this work with my boys. If I sent them to their room and didn’t intervene, would they actually stay in there refusing to clean it, but at least not bothering me for several hours??? It sounds tempting. I was surprised at how few things there were for her to clean up. Send her to my two little guys’ room - a mass of clothes, pulled from the drawers on a daily basis (despite the fact that the older one only wears his super-hero suits), numerous stuffed animals (only on the floor when not thrown into the youngest crib), train pieces and duplos (those hurt to step on). I’m actually planning on tackling it tomorrow while the 3 year old is at pre-school for 4 hours. It will probably take me longer than it took Annika!

*Lurker delurking* Darn someone already said what I was going to guess-3 hours so I’ll say 2 hours 50 minutes. I have a pair of stubborn preschoolers myself and I have to be pretty careful when I send them to their room to clean it. It usually ends up worse than it started unless I supervise.
Stacey (~Jellybean~ on bbc)’s last blog post..Ewww…
Here is a hint- as of now you’re all wrong. No one has guessed over yet (except for the vague it’s still dirty guesses). I’m looking for hours and minutes.
Whomever is closest by tomorrow morning gets the prize.
WOW! I previously said “not before dinnertime” which would probably have been about the longest time guessed so far from morning til dinner… and you said no one had gone over yet. So… my guess in hours and minutes…. 8 hours and 32 minutes. If I win, I want cookies sent to my house
Okay…so my “it’s still dirty” guess was a little vague…how about 7 hours 5 minutes! THAT is insanity.
mattsmom’s last blog post..I love the rain
Three hours and 46 minutes. Then she fell asleep on her floor with a stuffed animal under one arm, and a handful of torn paper clutched in her fist.
It once took a child of mine a week to clean his room. Can you say “pack rat?”
