Quick updates

I know you all love lists- so this is for you. (Well- and I’ve got laundry to do and a kitchen to clean).

1. The house. It’s not happening. Apparently after being so difficult to work with and stringing us along they’ve decided not to sell and to stay put.

2. We finally had our next door neighbor’s over for dinner and games last night and we all had a blast. They went home shortly before midnight. We’re getting to old to do that-I’m having a hard time functioning today.

3. We were discussing the moving situation- Corinne will be three in May- we’ve lived in four places since she was born. Ashley is in third grade- she’s gone to four schools. I just want to settle down.

Um, that’s all I can think of. So- short list today.

**Do you ‘hang out’ with neighbors much?**

**What time do you usually go to bed?**

**How many places have you lived in the last three years?**

  1. - We have had some good neighbors to hang out with, but the past year we’ve not had as many to choose from. We try to be social as much as possible.

    - During the week, before midnight. Weekends…sometimes later, but not frequently.

    - Last three years it’s only been two places, but for two of those it’s been in an itty bitty apartment, and alas, we will continue to be here for another year. I yearn for freedom of a house again!

  2. * I don’t ever hang out with my neighbours. My neighbours on one side are an older family with grandchildren. They’re lovely and nice, but I have nothing in common with them. The house on the other side of us is a rental, with 2 suites in it. The basement suite people are horrible, and the upstairs people always seem to be fighting. My Mum says whenever she’s over and hears the upstairs Mom on the phone, she’s complaining about how bored she is, so I think I’m going to try to extend a hand of friendship to her - but that’s hard to do when winter is giving us a final blast, and no one wants to be outside.

    * I tend to go to bed around midnight. I spent most of that 4 hours after Punkin goes to bed cleaning, catching up on laundry, and watching the few TV shows I programmed to record.

    * Since 2005, I have live (1) In my parents house, (2) in my first apartment in Hometown (3) in my first apartment in Alberta after getting married (4) in my first home I ever owned (in Alberta) and (5) here, in my perfect, cozy little house in Hometown. I totally understand about wanting to settle, and I truly hope you find a house that suits you soon!

  3. **Do you ‘hang out’ with neighbors much?**
No, everyone on our street is total white trash. They probably wouldnt want to come over since I wouldnta allow them to smoke.
I would love to invite people over from church, but our house is really too small. We have a hard time fitting two extra people, let alone an entire family.

**What time do you usually go to bed?** between eleven and Midnight

**How many places have you lived in the last three years?**
The last three years have really slowed. We have only lived in two places. However in the 8 years we have been married, we have lived in 9 places. So 9 moves in 6 years.

  4. 1. Never.

    2. 11:30- midnight. Always too late.

    3. Just one! We’ve been here for 8 years this fall.

  5. I don’t really hang out with neighbors as such except I have a couple of neighbors who I actually knew before I moved to the neighborhood and I am still friends with them.

I used to be a TOTAL insomniac and had to force myself to go to bed by 11:00 and often took drugs to make myself go to sleep by then, and sometimes it still didn’t work. Since I was sick earlier this year I go to bed much earlier. Sometimes I could go to bed as early as 9:00 and be totally happy. I do still have problems stewing about problems, mostly my financial woes. When I have that I do still take meds sometimes to calm down. I have only stayed up late “partying” a few times since being sick.

I’ve been here forever and I’ll be here until they foreclose or I get that job and move out west!

  6. We used to hang out with our neighbors tons. We haven’t done that much here.

Bed time is about eleven o’clock most nights.

And we’ve lived in two places in the last three years. And we haven’t decided on how soon we’ll move again.

  7. I would be asleep standing if I didn’t get to bed before midnight.
I will show you pictures of my dirty house if you show me yours LOL!

  8. I don’t hang out with friends enough.

I should go to bed at 9:30pm because of when my baby wakes up in the morning.

Because I got married in the last 3 years I have actually lived in 4 places as well.

  9. I don’t hang out with neighbors very often. Usually it’s a BBQ at the park with the other Mormons in town.

Go to bed? You mean, some people actually go to bed? It’s usually after midnight (I know, I’m nearly 30 and still stay up too late).

In the last 3 years we’ve lived in 4 places. Two in Utah and two in Colorado.

  10. The neighbors on both sides of us are in their late 60’s, and their lights go off in their homes around 8:00 pm, so no, we don’t hang out with them. Hubby and I never go to bed before 1:00 am.

We’ve lived in 4 places in the last 3 years. My oldest is in 3rd grade, and at his 6th school. I would LOVE to settle down for a while!

  11. Our favorite neighbors moved : (. We’ve got plenty of other friends in the neighborhood, but don’t usually do much as couples. It’s more the moms that get together.

Bedtime ranges from 10 to midnight. More often it’s closer to midnight, a bad habit for sure.

I’m a stay put girl. We’ve lived here for 7 years and don’t have any plans to move.

  12. Nope, no hanging with neighbors since we moved to the apt.
If I am not in bed by 10 every night I am pretty much trashed the next day.
2 places. Our house, where we lived for 13 years and now this apt.

  13. In the last 3 years? We’ve only moved once, and it was to a house one street over from our previous house. My daughter stayed in the same school and still has the same friends and neighbors, so it was almost like not moving.

As for neighbors, we don’t really hang out with our neighbors much except to invite them to our kids’ birthday parties, which they do with us, too. We do see them on a weekly basis–out for walks, doing yardwork, etc–and we always stop and chat.

  14. * My next-door-neighbor is my best friend but I feel like I hardly know the people on our other side.

    * I am a night owl. Last night I went to bed shortly before 1 am and that’s pretty normal. And every morning I thank my lucky stars that my kids like to sleep in, too.

    * We’ve lived here almost 5 years and are JUST NOW painting the living room. We may have all our stuff in the house, but it certainly doesn’t feel like we live here…more like we’re renting and our landlord won’t let us touch the walls.

  15. We hang with our neighbors about twice a year. It use to be more…but they are an older couple who use to have their kids (our age) living with them…once they moved we only get invites when their kids visit them.

I dream of someday being in bed by 10:30 every night…but it is often closer to 1:00 am. The internet has ruined my life…I mean saved it…I mean ruined it…I mean…

We have lived here for about 4.5 years! It hit me recently that we will soon out grow this house and be forced to move…probably within the next 5-6 years. I hate moving!

  16. We moved once, a year and a half ago from a college town where we had lived for 15 years to my husband’s family’s farm property out in the country. There is a beautiful, wealthy house with horses across the street from us. They are an older couple. I’ve never met them. They (and their grown children who visit) often wave to us - that’s it.

Having said that. I moved every two or three yeas while growing up because my parents were Salvation Army officers and for some reason that church thinks it is a good idea to mix leadership up every few years. Thus, I thought this move would be a piece of cake for me. SO NOT TRUE! I had actually put down more roots than ever before in our previous town.

Of course, it doesn’t help that I am stuck at home with two small children all the time. If we could move, I would for me, but I wouldn’t for my boys. This is a grand place to raise rambunctious boys!

I have such a problem with staying up too late since I joined the blogosphere. It is my only source of community and I crave it daily. My boys come first during the day, but once they are down, I have my time on the computer (until 12 or 1 a.m.) Our present sleep issues are really making this unreasonable. Last night, I put them to bed at 9 (ES had a school function and hubby was at a work function and I have NO SITTER) and they didn’t fall asleep until 10:30. I was up until 1:30 and they rose with the sun at 7:30. Groan. I’m with you - I’m just too old for this!!

Sorry if my comments went a bit long. Thanks for being my community tonight! Smile!

  18. We try to go to bed by 10. If we don’t I am dragging! I feel like we are so old. Sometimes on Friday nights we just go to bed early! Of course we do have a new baby but we did that before she joined us.
I hate to move! Even though my kids aren’t in school yet! It is aweful and we collect SO much junk!
    Good Luck!

  19. We are not the most social people-you already know that. I do have one neighbor I talk to about once a week, but we really don’t have people over much- like I said we are kind of boring.
I usually go to bed around 11-I should go to bed earlier I just never do

We have only live 2 places over the last few years, but since we have lived here we have lived 6 places

  20. I don’t hang out with my neighbors enough. I need to get out more.

We usually go to bed around 10pm, but sometimes it is right after the new.

We have lived in 3 different houses in the last 3 years. If we go back a little further and go 5.5 years then we have lived in 5 places. So, we have been pretty consistent with a house per year. Hopefully this house will keep us here for quite some time.

  21. We hang out with the neighbors all the time and it is often midnight when they go home. We have lived in the same place for the last six years, I hate moving and hope I never have to do it again.
