So yesterday I was feeling spent. I’ve been cooped up with sick kids for over a week except for visits to the pediatrician. My house is falling apart around me and I didn’t have the motivation to deal with it. I desperately needed to escape. So I called a couple of my neighbors and we went to Applebee’s and got dessert shooters (possibly the greatest invention ever) and chatted for a couple hours. It was SO nice. I highly recommend it. So much cheaper then therapy too. Although now people who see me on a regular basis know about my internet habits (here mostly) and that’s a little intimidating (hi guys). I guess it’ll keep me nice huh? No complaining about my kid’s friend’s mom, or my RS president, or my backyard neighbor (not that there is anything to complain about- which is why I like them all. You hear that!?!)
- I just want to update- when it rains it pours. I got called last night to sub for Bunco and I didn’t want to pass them up and miss the opportunity to sub another time. This weekend is also the Utah Blogger Girls Gathering (still interested? Comment or email (amberlicious AT gmail DOT com) and I’ll send you details). I’ve not had girl time forever- but this week has been overload! Not that I’m complaining- Steve might be- but I’m not.
On another note- I’m still feeling unmotivated to clean my house, not like that’s a big surprise to anyone.
I need to make a list (for the next couple days)- feel free to ignore:
hang up/fold/put away all clean laundry (the one thing I did do yesterday)
clean kitchen (I’ve got about three pans that need to be washed by hand that have been on the counter for at least 3 days as well as ‘clutter’ everywhere.)
wipe down table/chairs
pick up/vacuum living room
vacuum dining room
vacuum stairs
clean girls bathroom (or make them do it)
clean my bathroom
put away my craft stuff
practice making orchids with gumpaste for Barbara’s cake
pick up and vacuum family room
make kids pick up toy room
email Dave about massage time
email utah blogger girls
find family picture for a RS thing
take my kids to the zoo if the weather is nice in the next couple days(It’s supposed to be gross the next couple of days so I figured today was good.)
find camera cord
blog about Ashley’s birthday/party
blog buttercream recipe to WFD blog
sort Ashley and Cori’s closet
sort megan and annika’s closet
clean out A/C drawers
clean out M/A drawers
sweep/mop kitchen
sweep/mop entry
sort/organize secretary (I can’t tell you how long this has been on the list)
organize laundry room
call daphane about dinner
come up with job/reward system so I’m not the only one picking up on a regular basis
call Marsha about making rolls for RS dinner- called once waiting for return call
cry that even though the hospital is contracted with our insurance the anesthesiologist is not. How does that work exactly? (I just called- add an extra $1,000 to our bill since they’re ‘out of network).

Last night was needed by all of us, we need to do that more often. And I won’t complain about the RS president if you won’t! Maybe today will be more productive after my “recharge”.
good luck with everything! I have said for a long time, best girl friends are a great alternative to therapy!
I love girl time. Ryan watches the kids one evening a week so that I can go and relax for a couple of hours. I can’t tell you how much this saves me.
As for your house… my list is MUCH longer!! ;-P
Wow, I’m impressed at what you are getting done while feeling unmotivated.
I’m glad you had a good girls moment. Those are absolutely necessary!
I hear ya about the girl. I myself an enjoying me time…no kids for 24 hours! Thank goodness I have THE MOST AWESOME parents!
Girl time rocks!! Never heard of the dessert shooters but will have to check them out.
I know what you mean about the pressure of having people you know in “real” life read your blog. I wonder sometimes if I sensor myself a little because of it.
Dessert shooters? Where do I sign up?!
I like these lists…I need to start keeping a list. Might help me not lose my head and completely forget something. But then again, if I actually remembered things, it just wouldn’t be me!
Funny…yesterday I was feeling like I just couldn’t get on top of the house work and thought about making a list on my blog as well to keep my in check but I forgot about it and went to clean my bathroom…it desperately needed it!
The Chocolate Dessert Shooter at Applebee’s BLEW my mind. I asked them if I could get a large “to-go” cup filled only with the chocolate cream stuff to which my husband quickly replied, “She’s kidding.” But, I wasn’t kidding.
holy crap, it makes me tired just reading all you want to get done! At least a massage is in there somewhere.
So how did it go on Saturday? I’m sorry I missed it! Good luck with your LONG list!
Unmotivated lately? I think that must be in the air or water lately … or maybe it is just the winter blahs and lack of sunshine
!! However, you still seem to be able to be getting a lot done. You go!
And girls outings? They are so crucial to a moms sanity. They should be mandatory on a regular basis!
Oh. Mygosh. I think I collapsed from exhaustion halfway through reading your list. Yikes, woman! I’m glad you got some girl time (and then MORE girl time– with ME!!!) but good heavens woman. Take a nap or something!
