All About Cheerios
I’m a believer in giving people what they want, well, unless they’re people under the age of 18 who live in my house, then I’m a believer in ‘be happy with what I give you or I’ll take it away’ but people who are googling stuff deserve to find what they’re looking for right? Most people who land here via a google search are either interested in marshmallow fondant (about 25% actually) or something about cheerios. Most of them are questions about Cheerios, which I will attempt to answer now.
Ahem. (Of course I have no affiliation with General Mills or Cheerios)
1. Cheerios coloring page I’ve looked. Not extensively, but for a good 2 1/2 minutes for one. Nothing really pops up (well, except for me at #2!). So I’ve done you all a favor. I made my very own cheerios coloring page. Feel free to copy and distribute as needed- for free of course.
2. ‘Cheerios‘ Nothing here is affiliated with Cheerios. If you’re looking for them check out www.cheerios.com
3. old cheerios images I’m not sure what this is asking for. Do they want cheerios that have been sitting on the table since breakfast and it’s now dinner? Or an image of cheerios that I found under my fridge when I moved it out to look for something else that slid under it? It’s hard to say. Here is a picture of the front of the first boxes of Cheerios.
4. When to give Cheerios to a baby? I say it depends. Is this your first baby? Then you’d better wait until they have at least 5-8 teeth, then only give the baby one at a time under close supervision and just to be safe break them in half so they don’t choke. If it’s your second then throw some on the highchair when they’re about 7 or 8 months old and stay within arms reach. If it’s your third or more you shouldn’t be asking me- and trust me, you’re lucky if your older children have only fed the baby Cheerios and not something like dog food or gum…
5. Cheerios are bad I’m pretty sure this statement is inherently incorrect. Cheerios are good, they are part of a heart healthy diet! Plus, they’re an easy snack to throw in a baggie and stick in your diaper bag to feed to cranky kids. They’re just hard to scrape off of pretty much anything if they’ve been soaked in milk and allowed to dry.
6. Pictures of Cheerios Here you go- but they’re not really Cheerios, they’re Honey Nut Scooters.

7. Where were Cheerios made? As far as I know they still continue to make Cheerios. Probably every day (since 1941). On the Cheerios website I found a contact address. I don’t know if this is where Cheerios are made- but this is where their corporate offices are. Helpful aren’t I? I’ll get back to you- they’re offices are only open until 5:30 CT.
General Mills, Inc.

8. How are Cheerios made? I found the answer here. For those of you too lazy to click here it is:
Cheerios are made from oat flour and some other ingredients, such as sugar, salt, and starch. The dry ingredients are mixed with water and formed into small, hard circles by cooking and forcing through dies. The small circles are partially dried and then puffed by heating with steam in a cylinder under pressure, then allowed to release from the high pressure to atmospheric pressure. This causes the circles to expand as water inside turns to steam. The puffed pieces are further dried, then vitamins and minerals are sprayed on and they are dried again. Some varieties have a sugar or honey coating added. The product is over 75 years old and is one of the most popular breakfast cereals. It is commonly fed to children dry as a snack because it is safe, easy to eat and nutritious.
9. Cookie Recipes using Cheerios. I’ve never made cookies with Cheerios, but the following one from Cooks.com looks promising. I’ll try it out and let you know.

1 1/2 c. sugar Mix sugar, butter, water, vanilla and egg. Stir in remaining ingredients and one of items. Drop by rounded tsp. onto greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees 10-12 minutes until lightly browned. Makes about 4 dozen.Peanut butter and chocolate chips are great. |

10. Cheerios Crushed! I’m going to assume they were looking for cleaning techniques. Luckily if it was a dry Cheerio which was crushed it’s very easy to clean up. Just grab your vacuum for carpet, or a broom for tile or hardwood. Don’t fret, if this is the first time this has happened it’s certainly not the last!
11. What does Cheerio mean? Well, in the USA it refers to a breakfast cereal (see the above picture). In England it’s a greeting. Frighteningly enough Soggy Cheerios is slang for saggy boobs. I didn’t know this until I googled ‘what does soggy cheerios mean?’ The sad thing is that it’s also an appropriate meaning for my blog- hey! I’ve breastfed four kids!
12. I’m scared of Cheerios! I’m very very sorry. Maybe you should seek psychological help, or just don’t buy any, either one would work.
13. My pee smells like Cheerios If I were you I’d just stop smelling your pee. That can’t be a very good habit can it?
There you have it. All the answers to the web’s burning questions about Cheerios.

this is my favorite post ive read today
People actually google #13?
Saggy Boobs, no way! Great byline.
And they spray vitamins and minerals on the Cheerio? I had such higher expectations for the all purpose meal.
You have provided such a valuable service for googlers around the world. You are a giver!
Wow, now that’s a lot of Cheerio information!
I loved this post. I will be laughing all night. I’m glad you can take the second meaning of your blog name so light-heartedly. I would probably be crying. Sorry so many have searched you for info about Cheerios. Love your blog.
I Love the coloring page! Very clever!
This is great! Definately one for the “Best Of” album. And who smells their pee? And *why* would it smell like Cheerios?
And #4 is so right on, it’s scary.
Teeheeeeee. Fantastic (and informative) post. I did not know ‘Soggy Cheerios’ meant saggy boobs. Hm.
And as for feeding cheerios to a baby… Apparently I am a terrible mother for feeding Punkin cheerios starting at 5 months! She didn’t have teeth at all (still doesn’t actually), but she’s never choked on them (whew!!)
I wonder what kind of cheerios the pee smelled like? Frosted? Honey Nut? Odd.
To quote a dear friend, That? Was Hil.ar.i.ous!
So very funny!
Awesome! And no doubt quite helpful. I don’t get googled per my settings, because I’m sure I don’t want anyone looking for info on spasms knocking on my door.
By the way, I learned a ton. Who knew you could ask so many different kinds of questions about cheerios.
So much I never knew I needed to know about cheerios!
How funny! My kids’ pee smells like Cheerios sometimes! Not the plain, but the Honey Nut. I’m sure that this is more information than ANYONE wanted.
This post was the first I’ve read from you. Not only was it hilarious, it was very informative. Love the fact that Soggy Cheerios means saggy boobs! Thanks for visiting my blog… nice to meet you.
Very nice, now you will definitely have all cheerio searches land on your blog until the end of time.
It was a fun read.
Thanks!
to quote the first comment… you crack me up!!! btw, my college used to make these great cheerio bars… kind of like rice crispie treats, but with peanut butter and mini-miniature chocolate chips. Yum!
How funny. Who would have thought cheerio cookies?!
You really get people expecting your blog to be about Cheerios? Glad you helped them out so much!
I have a picture of Hannah asleep with Cheerios in her high chair tray. We were going to enter it in a contest they were having, but don’t think we ever got around to it.
Amber, this is the funniest post I’ve read in a long time. Not many people would be brave enough to talk about soggy cheerios being saggy boobs, but hey it works!!
So did you try out the cheerios cookie recipe yet? I couldnt see where if you had tried it?
I was making a hm what was it called sweet salty nutty bars? Anyway it was a bar concoction with marshmallows as the middle layer on top of the flour-dough base and chocolate, peanut butter, peanuts and what was supposed to be rice krispies (I subbed Cheerios for this) and it was pretty good! Of course I dont know how badly I mangled the recipe since I didnt try it first with the rice krispies, not having any on hand. Cheerios is about all we eat in this house, we love our cheerios (not soggy, thank you!)
