Things I’m thinking about (well, at this moment)
1. Organization
I started January with a organizational bang- then we went on our cruise. I need another kick in the pants and some pats on the back. Shameless begging here.
My cupboards before I can’t find. You’ll just have to trust me- it was BAD. Now I can actually find stuff.
Today’s project is my linen closet. Before.. (after will be up by tonight if it kills me)
My sister Hannah loves the above song. I started calling her when I hear it- but I realized this morning that I hear it every morning while taking Ashley to school. It’s a fun song (weird video) but every morning at the same time? Someone needs to hit shuffle at the radio station.
3. potty training-
Cori is just over 2 1/2. She seems to be interested in using the potty. I’m not really that interested in teaching her. We’re still struggling so much with potty issues between Megan and Annika that to have one more butt to think about isn’t high on my priority list. I’ve pretty much been letting her do her thing. She loves to sit on the potty and wear panties, so I let her when she wants to- but I don’t force the issue. She makes it in sometimes, but not others. But about 1/2 the day she’s in a diaper. I’m trying to figure out if she really will figure it out by herself, or if this will stunt her potty learning growth. I guess we’ll see right?
4. Grapefruit is delicious. My new favorite breakfast food.
5. Parenting.
Well, it seems that parenting is usually on my mind. I’m currently taking a 6 week Love and Logic course at our church. It’s been enlightening and interesting. The thing that stuck out in my mind last week was, ‘We’re not here to change your children. We’re here to change you, and how you approach your children’. I don’t know why I thought it would be easier to change someone else (even if they are a little someone) then myself. But really I was there to learn how to change my children! (darn it!)
6. I’m getting old…
I fell down my front steps a couple days ago. I slipped on the ice and landed on my butt and right hand/arm. I’m now incredibly sore. I feel like I just ran a marathon and then lifted weights for a year. I walk like an old woman. I also love advil….
7. Politics
I’ve become more then a little addicted. I used to watch music videos and tv shows on YouTube- but now I watch political debates and every candidate interview I can get my hands on. If I was going to vote today it would be for Barack Obama. I think he’s got the best reputation (even if it’s a short one- but that’s good in my mind) for working with both sides of the aisle to get things done. Candidates can promise to do stuff until the cows come home- but if they don’t have cooperation from both Democrats and Republicans then nothing will happen. I don’t think that any of the Republican Candidates have a prayer of accomplishing that. Neither does Hillary Clinton. Obama has proven in Illinois that he can. I actually registered as a Democrat in Utah specifically so I could vote for Obama in the Primary (generally I’m an Independent).
What are you thinking about today?
What is your favorite (non cereal) breakfast food?
What is your parenting style?
What song do you ALWAYS hear on the radio?
If you were voting today who would you vote for?

I’m with you on grapefruit. I grew up in Florida, so I naturally love citrus. Grapefruit is my favorite, too! I can’t always find them as big as I’d like, here in Utah, though.
I think I’d vote for Obama as well. I don’t know how I am registered and I can’t find my registration card, though….
What are you thinking about today? I need to call and make a Dr’s Appt for Miles. And drop off a crapload of stuff at goodwill.
What is your favorite (non cereal) breakfast food? Bacon.
What is your parenting style? I’m lazy.
What song do you ALWAYS hear on the radio? N/A. I listen to talk radio or none at all.
If you were voting today who would you vote for? I have no idea.
Big doin’s! Good for you on the before and after shots…they’re so inspiring too!
What are you thinking about today? going to Florida for spring break
What is your favorite (non cereal) breakfast food? South Beach Diet meal replacement bars
What is your parenting style? undefined, but generally consistent
What song do you ALWAYS hear on the radio? the “All Things Considered” theme song
If you were voting today who would you vote for? Romney. But if he doesn’t get nominated I’m going back to my Democratic roots and voting for Obama.
Potty training—
wait. The longer you wait, the easier it will be. Ignore people who say, “She isn’t potty trained yet? My daughter was trained at 18 months.” Better yet, give em a smack. My advise, keep doing what your doing. The less you pressure, the easier it will be. When she is dry every single night with no accidents, then she is totally ready….One day, just be out of diapers.
Today I’m thinking how much I miss Josh. He’s been gone since Monday and won’t be back until Friday. Sigh…it’s been a long week. LOL!
Homemade whole wheat bread with jam is my favorite non-cereal breakfast food. Yum! I have this a lot…I learned to make bread last year and I’m patting myself on the back.
I have no idea what my parenting style is, but soon it will become a potty nazi style. Kenzie is the same age as Cori and I’m sooooo ready for her to be potty trained.
I never hear anything on the radio. We have only one station that comes in clear here and so we use the iPod or cds in the car.
Obama is my choice…down with the others! LOL!
I HATE Huckabee, yes it’s a strong word, but he dug up untrue poop about the Mormons to make Romney look bad. No one messes with my beliefs and gets away with it, dang it! But I’ve liked Obama for quite awhile.
I love that Paralyzer song! But I don’t know all the words so it ends up me randomingly yelling words at different times. I probably frighten the children.
Amber-
Your linen closet and pantry and cupboards look great! You probably did have to ignore your kids a little to get that done… It’s okay if they got some mommy time in the day and if it makes you a nicer mom because you can find things, everything has a place, and you are less frustrated!
