Answering some questions and my next project
I’ve been asked ‘now what?’ about my writing project and ‘what is your end goal?’
My end goal is to publish. That has always been the goal. But even then there is a lot to be done. My story isn’t finished, I just reached the 50,000 word goal for NaNo (YAY!!) I figure there is easily 30-50,000 words left to the story. So I’ve got considerably more to write. Then comes editing- which I feel will be harder then writing.
But this has been a long month in which I abandoned my partially unpacked house in order to write. Combine this with my four kids (three of which are too young for school) and my naturally unorganized personality as well as 5 boxes of Christmas decorations we pulled out on Monday and I’ve got some digging out to do.
We’re at the point of functioning here, but if you asked me which drawer the ice cream scoop was in I would tell you it was one of about 4. Well, that’s not entirely accurate- it’s most likely dirty since we use it a lot. So I need to organize most every space in the house so I can feel good about where stuff is.
I also have done almost no Christmas shopping. Except for things that are being delivered to my house. I need to get on that.
Also I have those kids I mentioned earlier. I need to remind them who I am and stuff. Also Steve. Who has been pretty helpful while I’ve been writing. He’s been a really good sport.
So while I want to establish writing as a regular habit- I think I’m slowing down in December to rebalance my life.
Also I need to blog more and read more blogs, because I enjoy it. In November there is NaNoWriMo and some other acronym for blog posting daily. Well, when you are participating in one, but most bloggers are participating in others then there isn’t enough time for both. Plus? The quality of blogging is affected by both (no really it is.)
Hopefully I’ll be sharing pictures with you of my progress. It’ll motivate me.

I am really pleased and happy for you. I fairly managed blog posting month missing only onoe day when we were on the vacation and had no access. Fifty thousand words is a HUGE accomplishment. YAY FOR AMBER!
Good luck unearthing. That’s my job tomorrow and I don’t even have your good excuse!
Happy times!
Congrats on finishing! That’s a huge accomplishment!
Cool! Good for you. My dad owns a publishing company, they help authors, like you, self-publish. mysticpublishers.com. Check them out. They are small, but do good work. Keep that in mind. Otherwise, I am glad for your blog, I would never hear from you.
