Is your bowl half full, half empty or spilled all over the table, dripping on the floor and tracked through the house?

Awesome, Amber! I'm totally impressed by anyone who takes on this November challenge. For me just doing NaBloPoMo is a stretch. I love your description of how the characters are starting to evolve and the story begins to get easier because it writes itself. Too bad poor Grandpa is doomed to a sudden death. It's not your fault, you're just the writer. He had it coming I guess.

Maybe next year I'll get brave and try this.

~A lady in long black hair, streaked with grey wanders in with a whip made of chains. Her foot length ragged black dress swirls in the wind created by opening the door. She meanders over to the writing desk in a slightly threatening sort of way and begins to examine it's contents. Amber looks up as a filmy tendril from the black dress tickles the back of her neck. Maybe it wasn't the wind from the door after all. Maybe the dress had a mind of its own. Whatever the case, when Amber looked up, the lady paused in her perusal of the desk long enough to say, "What are you looking at me for? Get back to work!" And the chains rattle threateningly behind her.~

(Go ahead, say it. I'm pathetic!)
