Happy (Belated) Birthday Hannah!! (26)

So I’ve been called to repentance. I forgot to do my sister’s birthday post. I’ve got another sister who has a birthday today also. But Hannah’s was on the 22nd so I’m doing hers first. Sorry it’s late Hannah- I was a little busy. 26 reasons why I love Hannah

1. She makes me laugh all the time

2. She is generally on my ’side’ during sibling political throwdowns (all in good fun)
3. She lives close enough to come over for dinner

4. But she’s a starving college student so she LOVES everything I make. (It’s good for the ego)

5. She’s a fun aunt and likes playing with my kids.

6. In relation to #5 she took Ashley to the summer camp she was a counselor at this summer for a week. Ashley had a blast. I enjoyed the break.

7. She talks to me about boys she’s dating/interested in etc.

8. She’s a good sport and let’s me tease her about them (um, current one is 5 years younger and has a funky name. Let’s just say his parent’s are Mormon and his first name is Teancum. But the best part? Compared with his last and middle names his first name is probably his best option. No offense to anyone who names their kid Teancum.)

9. Hannah drove with us to Virginia Beach and back last summer. She’s a blast on a road trip. Well- when she’s awake…

10. Hannah is a peacemaker. She was always trying to get everyone to get along when we were younger (and still does). Darn that’s annoying sometimes! But necessary.

11. Hannah is one who always brings someone to everything. Whether it’s a ‘friend’ home from Guatemala who needs a place to stay for a while, or some random guy to a family event because he’s her friend (but nothing more and why would we assume otherwise- geez!)

12. She speaks spanish. I’m in awe of people who can speak more than one language.

13. Hannah went on a mission to Argentina

14. Before that she went to Guatemala for a year to teach English in an elementary school.

15. She’s rugged.  She hikes, bikes, swims, rock climbs, plays ultimate Frisbee and more- all on a regular basis.

16. Hannah was a member of pretty much every team, group or organization in high school.  Very well rounded.

17.  Hannah is only 3 years younger than me.  That’s really not that much. But on my 23rd birthday and her 20th Hannah realized that we’re not that far apart in age.  Before then she thought I was ancient.

18.  Her favorite comedian is Brian Regan
19.  She likes to tell bad jokes over and over again. But still thinks they’re funny.
20. She’s a math teacher in Logan, UT
21.  She’s also a home health care nurse
22.  I’m her favorite sister
23. Her birthday was on Sept. 22.  I’m really late.  Sorry Hannah!  I love you!

  1. I love Hannah too!

  2. That was only 23 reasons.

  3. Let’s just say his parent’s are Mormon and his first name is Teancum. But the best part? Compared with his last and middle names his first name is probably his best option.

This totally reminds me of a girl who was in my YSA branch - her middle name was Liahona.

One of my friends (male) that she had been kind of aggressively flirty with, upon learning that little gem, snorted and said “What? Did her parents find her outside of a tent?”

  4. Umm… I only counted 23 too. Wasn’t it supposed to be 26??

  5. Happy birthday to Hannah, too. I think all the Pechin women are wonderful. (Secretly, though, Ange is my favorite. :) )

And hey, would ya link me to your blog? famleafour.blogpost.com.

  6. Umm yeah - Michael’s little sister in his “other family” is Liahona Tatiana. Poor thing.

  7. Hey Amber, That was so heart warming…You got me in trouble with Mr. T and his grandfather whom he was named after. And you love me because,
    24. I’m not still 23
    25. I won’t graduate college before you.
    26. I’ll let you make my wedding cake (this is not an announcement, just an agreement we have.)
