Several Things- my week in review

I’m here. My laptop cord/battery charger died so we’re down to one computer. Even two years ago that wouldn’t be a big deal. But now we have 5 people fighting over time for one and I have to wait in line for my turn and then set the timer so the next person doesn’t have to wait to long for their turn. Seriously. How pathetic is that? So anyone that knows somewhere that I could pick up a cord for a Toshiba A105 Satellite for less then $70 let me know.

We’ve definitely decided not to buy right now. Thinking of buying the house that Steve liked best of the ones that I was okay with made me physically ill. I just don’t think that things here are ‘permanent’ enough and between Steve’s job and the housing/mortgage market to buy right now. Once we made that decision we both felt better. So I’m on the hunt for a decent rental that we can live in for the next year or so. Somewhere in Layton/Kaysville/Clearfeild/Syracruse area. Anyone have any leads there? 4 bd/2 bath minimum. Preferably with a yard.

Wednesday would have been my Dad’s 54th birthday. It’s hard to know what to do to commemorate that. I’ve started a 54 point list- but it was emotionally draining and it’s been an emotional week- maybe I’ll finish that tomorrow. Would you know 54 things about your Dad?

I’ve met several ‘online’ friends ‘IRL’ (in real life) this last week. Plus ‘reconnected’ with a long lost friend from high school this week. Every time I meet up with ‘internet’ friends I think of the Brad Paisley Song, “So Much Cooler On Line” and I wonder how they feel about me. All those insecurities come out when we meet ‘for real’. Have you met up with internet friends? Have you been disappointed or pleasantly surprised when you met? Or like some internet friends that I’ve known but not ‘met’ for the last 4 years is it like you’ve never really not met ‘IRL’?
My High School Friend that I met up with I reconnected with on Facebook. My friend Emily twisted my arm to join. It’s sorta like Myspace but not skanky. It’s more about reconnecting with past friends then ‘hooking up’ with new people. Anyway, check it out. When you do if you know my full name look me up.

I’ve tried to be a good mom this week. Really. I took my kids to the fountains at the Gateway mall- where they* refused to run through the fountains and instead hung on me whining because it was hot.  Poor Suzy witnessed several not good mom moments.  Then Thursday I took them to the park for ward park day- where they* refused to play and hung on me and complained that it was hot.  I was not a good mom after a 1/2 hour of that either.

*By they I’m referring to Megan, Annika and Cori.  Ashley was very willing to play at both places and do anything out of the house.

Anyway- that’s my lovely week.  Glad I haven’t blogged/whined all week?  You should be. Just to review:  I need a laptop cord, I need a rental house, you need to join facebook,  if you live in Utah and want to get together let me know (LUCY)… - oh, and watch the Brad Pasiley video.

  1. I’m already on facebook, and you can whine as much as you like to. What a heck of alot to be dealing with! Ugh!

  2. Love the video! Hadn’t heard that one but I love his “Celebrity” video. I remember when I met a “cool” person from online…yeah, he lied about his looks. Wish I could help with the house hunt but unless you’re looking in Happy Valley, I got nothing for ya. Hope you find a good place!

  3. Ohh.. I have a friend with a rental in Syracuse.. I will have to check into that for you.
((hugs)) I am sure Wednesday was an emotional day, it would have been for me.
What a crazy busy week. I hope that things slow down and you can relax.

  4. I can’t find your email, and I hate pimping in public, but I think if you click on my name from this comment, you will see mine. I’d love to do a park date or something this week. Wednesday probably works best for me (oops, there I go with the public planning). Email me! Or I may have to go stalking through Emily.

  5. I love you all even more in person than I do online. Hope the housing situation comes together for you guys soon.
